5 Ways a Locksmith Gets You In!

Well, of course, I can't actually give you the secrets to the trade.. then we'd be out of jobs! But here are some helpful ways you can avoid forgetting your keys in your car or home:

Have a spare key made to hide somewhere. Don't put it somewhere obvious; we all know (especially burglars) what those fake key rocks look like. Put it under a tree, in an outlet box, in a birdhouse, or, at best, somewhere you can remember it that isn't conspicuous. DON'T put it under the floor mat, a plant stand, a rock, or anywhere around the front or back doors.

Leave a window cracked. Sometimes, you leave a side window that goes into the kitchen and forget to shut it when you leave. This is your best chance of getting in without causing damage or calling a locksmith.

Check all windows, doors, sun roofs and even crawl spaces to make sure you are unable to get in.

Make a duplicate car key. Most times, the whole purpose of having a spare key is so you don't lose it or get locked out, but it doesn't do any good if the key is inside the locked vehicle! Leave it at home, or give it to someone you know you can trust. This way, you'll never be stuck without without your keys again.

Have the number for a cab or friend handy. If you lock yourself out, but you know you have a spare key, go get it! A lot of times, this option is cheaper than breaking a window;)
